If you're more of a casual user who just enjoys messing around or making games only with default assets, you might be just fine using VX Ace for a while longer. If you're more interested in Development, you'd probably love MV and see the potential. It's really not that different to manage folders than it is to use a resource manager to. If you were making a project with custom artwork or sound, you would probably already be doing this to begin with. The resource manager is gone, but all you have to do is manage your resource folders manually. Using an external editor doesn't slow you down whatsoever and can be configured more greatly than any internal editor ever could be. The lack of a scripting editor isn't really important for most people who are advanced enough to even know what a script is let alone edit one. But some of the changes have made it slightly more difficult for some. So there's definitely a LOT more potential for more serious developers in RPG Maker MV. Performance is much, much better overall with a few hiccups here and there (Mobile exports seem to have a few issues with performance at the moment). Games are also extremely easily used as Web Games if you wanted to host your games directly in a browser.

Mobile Support is a bit more finnicky but still exists more easily than any previous version of RPG Maker.).

Other than that, so far you can experience better resolution support (Plugins can let you set your resolution to whatever you want, but obviously it's best to stick to standards), better exporting and OS compatability (Should be able to get games working on Windows as well as Macs just fine. If someone wanted to, they could potentially build an entire server backend to handle just about anything they wanted and string it through RPG Maker to do quite a lot more than the previous scripting. Plugins can greatly expand the scripting and programming side of RPG Maker with using Javascript now.
